POW #5

In this book there is a lot of irony, but the one that stuck out to me the most was when they where in the helicopter. The helicopter ride was when the were stopped above the river and Lenina, was trying to take advantage of Bernard.

This is an example of situational irony because when we think of people taking advantage of a situation, it is usually the guy.

I think why Huxley used this was to show that, guys aren't the only ones that take advantage of the situation, girls do to.

  1. This is a good example. What else do you think Huxley might be saying here with this irony? What is is saying about relationships between men and women, or society in general? Are we changing into this?
